Here we go
Granada Preparatory School has started an amazing journey this year. GPS is the coming together of two paths, Chatsworth Hills Academy and First Presbyterian Preparatory School, with the goal of providing a warm and inclusive learning environment where students can grow and succeed not only in their academic endeavors but in life.
GPS is moving forward with an outstanding academic program. The International Baccalaureate is gaining awareness as more and more families are searching for an engaging program that teaches skills with real life application. We see the difference in our graduates as they become leaders in their high school communities; enter into college with a strong sense of who they are; and approach their learning with open minds, kindness and a belief that they can make a difference in the world.
As we must do on every journey, we are looking at the road ahead of us. There is work to be done. COVID-19 has had a significant impact on our families and our community. We are proud of the work our faculty has done to continue to provide our students with an outstanding remote learning program. We have invested heavily in adapting to the pandemic, through technology, modifications to the campus, and additional training for staff on pandemic response, and we will continue to do so as we navigate through this challenging time.
The 2020-2021 Annual Fund will have a greater impact on our community than ever before. With your help we will continue to provide Faculty Professional Development that strengthens our program and gives our educators the tools and training to learn and grow, connect with schools around the world and deliver an outstanding Preschool through 8th grade IB education.
This year’s goal is to raise $25,000. Training expenses can range from $1,000 - $2,500 per teacher depending on the type and location. Please make a contribution of any size, ask for support from grandparents, aunts and uncles, and look into your employer’s matching gift program. Your generous participation, in whatever measure you are capable of, ultimately benefits your student and the high quality education that GPS offers. We believe in the path we have mapped out for GPS and hope you will join us on this exciting journey.

For those who itemize deductions, CARES allows donors to deduct 100% of cash charitable gifts in 2020 (up to the full amount of your 2020 adjusted gross income). For individuals who do not itemize, the bill allows deductions up to $300 in annual charitable contributions (cash or stock) as an "above-the-line" deduction. Please check with your tax preparer for more information.
